Eligibility for Admission
- M. Sc. Nursing |
|
Admission requirements : The
candidate seeking admission must |
|
|
|
Have passed B.Sc. Nursing Degree of this
university or any other university accepted as equivalent by Rajiv
Gandhi University of Health Sciences with 55% marks in
aggregate.
|
|
|
Have a minimum of one year of experience after
obtaining B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) from 08-09 batch onwards no such
experience is needed for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing students.
|
|
|

course of study shall over a period of two years |
|
|
Sessional Requirement
: |
There shall be continuous internal assessment,
which follows broadly the principle set up by the Rajiv Gandhi
University of Health Sciences, from time to time. The university
reserves the rights to verify internal assessment whenever
necessary.

|
|
Submission of Dissertation : |
Candidate shall submit a dissertation in the
field of his/her specialty. There shall be a guide from the nursing
specialty and co-guide from who shall be a Medical/Nursing in the
specialty. The thesis will be submitted to the university 2 months
prior to the final examination.

|
Eligibility for Admission

|
A candidate shall be eligible for admission if
he/she has passed the 10+2 examination conducted by State of
Karnataka or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as
optional subjects, & including English or an examination
recognised by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
|
|
|
Has secured not less than 45% of marks on an
aggregate for the above subjects in the qualifying examination
referred to in subjects in the clause (1) and not less than 40% of
the marks if he/she belongs to scheduled castes / scheduled tribes
or other backward castes.
|
|
|
Has completed 17 years of age at the time of
admission or will complete this age on or before 31st December of
the year of admission.
|
|
|
Candidates shall be medically fit. |
|
|
Course of Study |
Duration : |
The course of study shall extend over a period
of 4 academic years from the date of commencement of his/her study
of the subjects comprising the nursing curriculum to the date of
examination. Terms and vacations shall be as notified by the
University from time to time.
The course of study is comprised of 1, 2, 3, 4, year of B.Sc.
(Nursing). A candidate shall undergo a course of instructions on
the following extending over a period of one/two academic
years.

General Information
: |
|
The provisionally selected candidates after
the interview will be intimated about the fees payable to the
institution.
|
|
Selection-intimation-letter is to be
surrendered to the college office at the time of paying the
fees.
|
|
Admission secured on the basis of false
information supplied shall stand cancelled and the fees
forfeited.
|
|
All communication with office in connection
with the application can be entertained only when the application
number is quoted. All communications from the college will be made
if a self addressed stamped envelope is enclosed.
|
|
Selection notification will intimate the date
of commencement of classes. Candidates remaining absent for the
first three consecutive days without prior permission shall forfeit
their admission as well as fees.
|
|
Admission granted is prodigal subject to : |
|
a) The payment of all fees
payable to the institutions. |
|
b) Submission of eligibility
certificates from the Rajiv Gandhi University in case of
Non-Karnataka State students |
|
c) Submission of all
certificates and testimonials in original as per requirement. |
|
d) Medical fitness
certificate.
|
|
Fees towards Eligibility and Registration,
Admission approval payable to “Rajiv Gandhi University of Health
Sciences” will be extra.
|
|
Clinical training means 8 hours of integrated
clinical duties in which 2 weeks of evening and night shift duties
are included.
|
|
Clinical training should be carried out as 8 hours
per day @48 hours per week. |
|
Students during Clinical training will be
supervised by nursing teachers. |
|
|
Attendance : |
A minimum of not less than 80% attendance in
theory and practical / clinical separately in each subject in each
academic year is essential for appearing in the examination. A
candidate pursuing the course shall study in the college for the
entire period as a full time student. No candidate is permitted to
work in a hospital nursing / home/ laboratory / college studying
this course of study of appears for other examination conducted by
this university or any other university in India or Abroad during
the period of registration. Each academic year shall be taken as a
unit for calculating the attendance.

Internal Assessment
: |
Regular periodic assessment shall be conducted
throughout the course. The test preceding the university
examination will be similar to the pattern of university
examination. Average of the marks of the three tests for theory and
practical separately shall be sent to the university.
|
|
|
Schedule of Examination : |
The university shall conduct two examinations
annually at an interval of not less than 4 to 6 months as notified
the university from time to time. A candidate who satisfies the
requirements of attendance, progress and conduct as stipulate by
university shall be eligible to appear for the university
examinations.
|
|
|
Migration and transfer of
students : |
A student may be allows to migrate / transfer
to another recognised nursing college under another or same
university provided a similar curriculum is followed by two
universities and it can be allowed within 3 months after the
declarations of the results of the first year B.Sc. (Nursing)
examination. The number of such migration /transfer should not
exceed the limit of 5% of the intake in one year.

Have passed pre-university examination in the Arts
/ Science / Commerce, or its equivalent which is recognised by the
Pre University education board of Karnataka. |

Course duration: 3 ½ years
|
The Sarvodaya College of Nursing offers General
Nursing Programme so as to prepare General Nurses who will function
as member of health team beginning with competencies for first
level position in both hospital and community.
